Catherine was awakened by her secure
phone’s soft ringing. She looked at the
clock on the nightstand seeing 3:00 am. The
voice on the other end said only one word “lightning”. Cat went into her secure study to access her
computer. The website came up after the
correct codes were inputted. The Secretary
of State logo came up on the screen. She
read for a short time and then logged off of the site. Cat opened her safe secured in the wall which
was covered with an abstract print. She
opened the safe with her eye recognition and thumbprint. Cat removed the secure radio and began the
process of going through the list to make her contacts.
Catherine
dressed and headed to the office. She
was the undersecretary of State having held the position through two administrations
one Republican and the other Democrat. She
greeted her staff and then gave all their assignments to gather the information
that would be needed to present to the Secretary of State. The new Secretary was a true politician which
worked out very well for Cat. He the honorable
John Duncan Rice from the great state of Louisiana who would not have a clue
what was going on or how to manage the aftermath. JD as he liked to be called by his friends
but not by his workers.
Before the
end of the day JD will have had a fatal accident on the way home leaving Catherine
as the temp Secretary of State. The planning for this day would go down in
history as the day that the true government of the United States would
emerge. The government that was formed by
real founding fathers The Unity Templers, they were there to make sure that
everything went as planned in the beginning.
Cat thought the plan was foolproof, but she did not know about the Savoy
or the Haven Helpers. The next years
would be struggle all over the world as the electric power was out, or going
out all over the World.
