Keep It Simple Survival

K.I.S.S.

Introduction

Keep it Simple Survival
This manual is a no nonsense approach to your family and friends continuing on after an occurrence. The following introduction will be followed by a complete manual on what to get and where to complete your journey to your haven.
Number 1 on the hit parade is: Where Is Your Haven?  Remember that more people does not mean better.  There are going to be limited resources after the Happening (Not if but when?).  The friendly neighbor that you have today may be your worst nightmare after the Happening.  Taking it easy and staying in your present Haven (Home) needs to be carefully thought out.  Traveling to your Haven in a rural setting is your best bet in order to stay alive and well.  When you, your family, and friends travel to your Haven you will need a place to go to.  The truth is you need a reservation or there may be no "Room at the Inn".  How would it feel to be Homeless with family and friends with no place to go with your whole life on your back? Benjamin Franklin said “If you fail to prepare, you prepare to fail.”
Helper Utility Have it in the sack
(Bug Out Bag) should be packed and ready to go.  Your HUH will help you arrive at your Haven in the best possible shape.  Water being conditioned on the way is the most important asset to your HUH, as it very hard to carry 5 Gallons of water.  The best filter system and tablets for water are in the Manual.  Food to be carried for up to 5 days supplies, how much, what type, and how prepared.  How to have fire (how started and maintained) to keep warm and prepare food.  Your Medical Kit that everyone must carry (the minimum and the maximums).  What kind of clothing (type & weather smart) that you need to travel with. The Personal Equipment you will need to survive a Happening.  Personal protection you will be carrying (weapons, how many and how much).  The Boots you will be making the move with (type and terrain). The Sleeping gear must be with you as there will not be that bed and breakfast to help with your needs.
How do you propose to get to your Haven?  The last thing you want is a Walking Tour to your Haven.  The longer your team is on the road the odds better that you will have a problem.  The first mode of Transportation of course will be a truck (what kind and how powered) which will get you and your Helpers to the Haven in the fastest time possible.  The next mode should be an electric / pedal bike with trailer (what kind and size).  The last mode of course would be to do A Walk About.  Have at least three routes to get to your Haven.  Have the maps of the territory with details of upgrades and Intel about past problems.  A cheap spy helicopter with a camera (costs and model numbers in the manual) will help keep you out of some very bad situations for under $100.00.
What will you do when you get to your Haven?  I would not count on the staff to see to your every need.  How ready will you be ready for 6 months, 1 year, 5 years, of 10 years?  Will you have the animals, seeds, food supplies in order to carry on your lives?  All of your questions will be answered in the manual.  A quote from Mel Brooks “You can’t cure stupid”.
